Avv. Annemieke M.G. Lippes

Annemieke graduated in 1992 in Cultural Studies from the University of Amsterdam, with a specialisation in Economics. After working for several years in the United Kingdom, France and the United States as a cultural and linguistic mediator, she moved to Italy in 1999.

Thanks to a long-standing cooperation with prominent US universities and European leading companies in the travel business, she acquired significant experience in the design and organisation of educational and cultural travels.

In 2012, Annemieke graduated in Law from the University of Florence, with a dissertation on the Dutch legal framework concerning freedom of religion titled Islam in the Netherlands. Obtaining admittance to the Italian Bar in November 2015, she has been a member of the Florence Bar since January 2016. She offers civil legal aid and assistance in Dutch (native speaker), Italian, English and French.

Her professional and research interests include: anti discrimination law, immigration law, LGBT rights, trans-national civil litigation and the application of European law to domestic disputes.

Like all her fellow team members she has a lifelong passion for travelling and discovering new cultures.

Following her graduation in Law from the University of Florence in 2008, Sara obtained her Ph.D. in Comparative Law in 2013 with a dissertation on the constitutional foundations of social rights in Italy and Spain as prominent examples of decentralised (non-federal) States.

In 2012, she was a visiting researcher at the University of Barcelona (Spain); in 2013, she was Adjunktprofessor in Comparative Law at Örebro University (Sweden). She successfully completed the Italian Bar Exam in the same year.

Author of several publications in English and Italian, she is actively involved in a wide range of research activities focused on constitutional judicial review, protection and promotion of socio-economic rights, federal/regional forms of State.

She has been working as a consultant in rule of law, justice reform and human rights related EU-funded projects since 2012 and has acquired significant experience in Turkey and the Western Balkans.

Sara loves travelling, learning languages, playing the guitar and making music with friends. When in the mood, she goes for a run.

Avv. Valentina Ferro

After graduating cum laude from the University of Florence in 2010 with a thesis in Criminal Law, Valentina started an extensive research activity in the same field while attending the University of Florence Doctoral School in Legal Sciences.

She was admitted to the Italian Bar in 2013, and in 2015 she obtained her Ph.D. in Legal Sciences – Criminal Law. She has been a member of the Florence Bar since September 2015.

She operates in various fields of criminal, civil and administrative law. She is enrolled on the registers of public defenders for the Florence Court of First Instance and the Florence Juvenile Court.

Valentina is the author of a number of criminal law-related articles published in prominent Italian journals. As far as criminal law is concerned, her professional and research interests include medical malpractice liability and the protection of patients, occupational accidents, stalking, juvenile law. In the field of civil law, she mainly focuses on civil liability and torts, guardianship and conservatorship for the protection of incapacitated adults and minors. She also offers legal aid and assistance in administrative trials, with special reference to the challenging of public selection procedures and immigration law.

Through her volunteer activity, she assists persons with disabilities and their families and advocates for the removal of architectural barriers.

Zeynep enrolled to the Bar of Istanbul in December 2015 and worked for the law firm Gün + Partners from September 2013 to July 2015 when she moved to Italy. She is married to an Italian and currently lives in Florence.

She graduated from Galatasaray University Law Faculty with top marks in 2013. Besides Turkish and Italian, in which she has taken various law exams at the University of Florence during her Erasmus Program (2013). She is also fluent in English (having graduated from Robert College, a prestigious American high school in Istanbul), French and German. She has a broad travelling experience, participating in numerous summer programs over the years, improving both her language skills (Alliance Française Paris, Institut Européen de Français de Montpellier, Heidelberg University) and her knowledge of specific legal fields (London School of Economics, Université de Fribourg).

She worked mainly in the fields of Commercial Law and Intellectual Property, a field about which she is particularly passionate. At Gün + Partners she more specifically concentrated on Corporate Law, Contractual Law, Competition Law and Patents. Having had the opportunity to improve her knowledge in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, Zeynep’s articles and research were published in international publications. She also contributed to other legal publications in her country.

She has always been interested in acting, loves to travel, enjoys cooking and practising yoga.

Janneke Bor

Janneke Bor

Janneke graduated in 1987 from the University of Utrecht (Netherlands) in Dutch Language and Literature (main subject: Renaissance Literature. After a short stay in Switzerland, she decided to increase her knowledge of the Italian language and culture by attending a course at the University of Florence.

Janneke settled there and collaborated on a project basis with schools, tour operators and translation centres. She also gained experience in the public sector, working for the Foreign Office of Italy’s biggest trade union, various administrative offices of the Tuscan Region and several offices of the Police and Justice Department. Her activities as a translator extend to the publishing world and audiovisual industry.

At the moment, she works for the Dutch Foreign Ministry.

She obtained her diploma as a certified translator Italian into Dutch and Dutch into Italian at the Instituut voor Tolken en Vertalen in Utrecht.

In Italy, Janneke is registered as a translator in the professional register kept by the Court of Law in Florence; in the Netherlands she is listed in the register kept by the Bureau for Sworn Interpreters and Translators in The Hague.

She is a Dutch native speaker with excellent knowledge of five other languages of the European Union: Italian, English, German, French and Spanish.

She is fond of travelling, plastic arts and music, walking and cycling.
